Ali Ottman – Update
After being named the top right back in the Israeli League last year; Ali Ottman has been sitting on the bench most of the season for Maccabi Haifa after making a move from Bnei Sakhnin. On Monday he got his opportunity to start, and he played very well against Hapoel Tel-Aviv; managing to shut down Itay Shechter or anything that came down the right side of the pitch. When he was able to get forward he put in several dangerous crosses and was one of the best players in the game. The Israeli National Team has tried a variety of right backs in the past two years including Yuval Spungin, Yoav Ziv, Eyal Meshumar, and Klemi Saban. However they have all performed poorly in international play and were the biggest weakness on the National Team. If Ottman is given more starts and puts in simliar performances he should be called up to the National Team by the next coach.
