Eyal Golasa – Update

Word broke last night that Eyal Golasa has signed a five year deal with the Roman club S.S. Lazio. According to Israeli news sources, Golasa signed a contract without Maccabi Haifa’s knowledge. Golasa will leave in the summer for Lazio but Haifa may try to block the transfer or use legal action to ensure some renumeration. Golasa is one of the most talented Israeli youngsters of his generation, during his time with Maccabi Haifa he has played as an attacking and central midfielder. Golasa has already played for the U-21 team several times and was called up this fall to the Senior National Team, but he was dropped due to injury. Golasa will be the first Israeli player to ply his trade in Italy since Tal Banin, and hopefully he can contribute to the National Team the same way Banin did.
