Yoav Ziv Signs With Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Gal Alberman To Follow?

Yoav Ziv will join Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the summer after agreeing on a three year deal with the club. Ziv has spent one and a half years at the Belgian Club Lokeren and has started most of the time for them. He can play either right or left back and was originally a striker when he was younger. Ziv struggles against higher quality opposition but defends well and can go forward against weaker opposition. He will join fellow “legionnaire” Roberto Colautti in the summer as part of Maccabi’s plans to challenge for the league title next season as well as a possible Europa League run if a spot can be secured this season. Ziv has started many games for the national team during the past two qualifying campaigns, and an almost guaranteed spot at Maccabi Tel-Aviv will ensure that he continues his run with the National Team unless a better player comes along.

In news related to this, Gal Alberman is rumored to be the next target of Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Alberman is currently on the books for German club Borussia Monchengladbach, but has not played in a long time due to injury. Alberman, while he was fit, was a starting midfielder for the National Team, but right before he was injured he put in a shocking display against Latvia, and it will be hard for him to break into the team again. Alberman is a defensive midfielder with good speed and technical ability but, it remains to be seen whether he will be purchased by Tel-Aviv due to injury concerns.
