Bidding For Itzhaki Begins
It is well known that Beitar Jerusalem has had financial troubles and the club needs to resolve them during the off season this summer. The club’s prized trio of Barak Itzahki, Idan Vered, and Aviram Bruchyan are all targets of other teams and the sale of them would help to pay off some of Beitar’s debts. However, Itzhaki is the most wanted of the three and the most likely to go. Maccabi Tel-Aviv allegedly met officials from Beitar Jerusalem to inquire about the player and were told that the price tag is 2.5 million dollars. Itzhaki already has experience of playing abroad in Racing Genk, but returned to Israel after becoming homesick. Itzhaki is a quick skillful player, that can play as an out and out striker or right behind the striker. He has a penchant for scoring spectacular goals, but sometimes misses relatively easy ones. In his last two seasons with Beitar he has scored 30 league goals. Maccabi Tel-Aviv should expect competition to purchase Itzhaki from Hapoel Tel-Aviv and Maccabi Haifa, as well as foreign teams.
