Israel U-21 Calls Up Squad For Belarus Friendly
Manager Motti Ivanir has called up Israel’s U-21 Squad for a friendly against Belarus. The game is part of preparations for Israel’s qualifier against Sweden on June 4. Ben Sahar and Bibras Natcho are expected to play against Sweden, but were not called up because they have been summoned to the National Team. The team lies in third place having played five games. They have beaten Bulgaria twice, tied and beat Kazakhstan, and lost one game to Montenegro. In order to advance out of their group Israel will probably need to beat Sweden both times and Montenegro.
Here is the squad.
Keepers ( Robi Levkovic, Itay Arkin, Boris Kleiman)
Defenders ( Oshri Roash, Rami Gershon, Oded Elkayam, Avi Rikan, Rachamim Chekol, Orel Dagani, Gal Shish, Din Mori, Yehuda Huta, Chen Azriel )
Midfielders ( Ran Abukarat, Almog Cohen, Gai Assulin, Nes Zamir, Eyal Golasa, Maor Buzaglo, Liroi Tzairi, Dor Malul )
Forwards ( Omer Damari, Dudi Biton, Alroi Cohen, Tal Ben-Haim )
Analysis: The clear strength of the team is the midfield players and it will be interesting to see who Motti Ivanir picks to play. However the other facets of the team are strong as well and Ivanir may experiment a bit against Belarus in order to work any kinks out with the squad. I expect Israel to beat Sweden on June 4, but anything can happen.
