Omer Golan And Shalev Menashe To Timisoara?
Omer Golan of Lokeren and Shalev Menashe of Maccabi Netanya have both been linked with Romanian club FC Timisoara and according to Romanian news sources are in advanced negotiations with the club. Both players have the same agent in Dudu Dahan. Over the past two seasons Menashe has been a consistent player for Netanya with 15 goals and 15 assists. I reported on him earlier last month. He has been linked with several bigger Israeli clubs, but his wage demands threw those clubs off. Omer Golan has a somewhat different situation, and has been very inconsistent at club level. He only has 13 goals in 58 appearances in three years for Lokeren, however he was given a contract extension at the end of the season, and Lokeren are believed to be demanding 500,000 Euros for the player. Timisoara was in the Uefa Cup last year and finished 5th this year in the Romanian Liga I. If Menashe and Golan sign, they will join Roni Levy as Israel’s representatives in Romania.
