Maccabi Tel-Aviv Imperia

It’s been five years since Maccabi Tel-Aviv has been in the Champions League and seven years since they have won an Israeli league title. After finishing a distant third from the top two finishers this season; owner Mitch Goldhar has decided to dig into his pockets and spend some serious money on bringing in new players. So far he has brought in five players. Two of them are fullbacks in Klemi Saban and Yoav Ziv, both of whom play for Israel’s national football team. The other three players are Barak Itzhaki, Eliran Atar, and Roberto Colautti. These players will be looking to contribute to the goal scoring of Maccabi Tel-Aviv which lagged behind in that category last season. Meanwhile three foreign players have been linked with the team in the past few days. Bosnia international Haris Medunjanin and teammate Nivaldo of Real Valladolid, and Livorno midfielder Mozart. Medujanin is the biggest name of the group and could add significant quality to Maccabi’ midfield. Monchengladbach midfielder Gal Alberman is also a possibility to play for the side but has significant gaps in wage demands with the club. Maccabi Tel-Aviv will also get to play in the Europa League next season which should be a measuring stick to see how good of squad Maccabi will have after the transfer season closes. If manager Avi Nimni can manage to put this squad of galacticos together, they could make a run for the championship next season and make the Israeli league very interesting.
