Ligat Ha’al Review

In the game of the week, Kiryat Shmona and Hapoel Tel Aviv squared off in a matchup of number one versus number two. The game wound up being 2-2 after Hapoel Tel Aviv’s Shai Abutbul scored from a thirty yard free kick. Maccabi Netanya continued their winning ways with a 3-0 spanking of Maccabi Tel Aviv, Ahmed Saba scored two goals to consolidate his lead as the league’s top scorer. Ashdod and Bnei Sakhnin played out a 3-3 thriller, with Ashdod scoring a goal in the 90th minute to tie the game. Hapoel Petah Tikva and Ramat HaSharon played out a 1-1 draw. Hapoel Acco and Maccabi Petah Tikva drew 0-0. Hapoel Haifa and Maccabi Haifa squared off in a derby game, Maccabi Haifa tied the game in the 90th minute when substitute Danijel Cesarec scored a  late equalizer. Beitar Jerusalem continued their winning ways under new Manager Eli Cohen. They beat Bnei Yehuda 2-1 in another dramatic game, after they were down a goal.
