Transfer News and Rumors

  • Werder Bremen and Hannover are following Maccabi Haifa left-back, Taleb Tawatha. Tawatha has expressed his desire to leave for Europe, and it is likely that Haifa will let him go for the right price, because they have lined up Maccabi Netanya’s left-back, Omri Ben-Harush to replace him. Tawatha is considered one of the better talents to come out of Haifa’s academy in recent years. They are also following Haifa striker Wiyam Amashe, although it is less likely that he will leave in the summer.
  • Maccabi Tel Aviv’s sporting director, Jordi Cruyff, wants to bring in two players from his former club, AEK Larnaca. He wants Gonzalo Garcia, a Spanish attacking midfielder, and Edwin Linssen a Dutch central midfielder. Garcia is a former Real Madrid youth player, and has scored 13 goals this season in all competitions. Linssen has started for the Cypriot club for the last two years.
  • Belgian Club AA Gent has expressed interest in Maccabi Haifa defender Sari Falah, after Maccabi Haifa indicated that he would continue to be a bench player. Falah has started for Israel’s U-21 team recently, and also appeared in Champions league qualifiers for Haifa, but was unable to secure his spot in the starting lineup during the course of the season. Falah is considered a young talent, but has been frustrated by his lack of playing time.
  • Maccabi Haifa is looking to offload Ghanaian midfielder Seidu Yaya. Polonia Warsaw is reportedly interested along with clubs from Belgium and the Ukraine.
